Port Antonio is regarded as the cradle of the tourism industry, having been the first town in the country to accommodate tourist visits as a result of the emergence of the Banana Industry. Port Antonio is the capital of Portland Parish a city on Jamaica’s northeast coast of the island. It’s known as a gateway to nearby tropical jungles, mountains and waterfalls and beaches such as: The John Crow Mountains, Reach Falls, Frenchman’s Cove, Rio Grande, Sommerset Falls and The Blue Lagoon among many others. The Blue Lagoon is known for its blue waters, fed by the Caribbean Sea and underground springs. In addition, there are many popular and beautiful Resorts and Lodges located in the city as well as the famous Boston Jerk Center.
